UPDATED: SWFWMD Implements Modified Phase III Water Shortage Order Effective Apr 3, 2026

The Southwest Florida Water Management District Updated the modified Phase II Water Shortage Order to a Modified Phase III "Extreme" Water Shortage and has called for the associated water use restrictions. This includes all of Sumter County . The order is effective April 3, 2026 through July 1, 2026.
The Order reduces lawn watering Districtwide. The full list of watering retrictions including allowable days and hours is available at the following website:
